Today we are featuring our Alumni Spotlight, Justin Ma! Justin graduated from UCI in 2017 as a Pharmaceutical Sciences major and currently serves on the board as the Communications Co-Chair. He recently completed his last two rotation blocks and is now studying for his licensing exam. Originally from Westminster, CA, Justin will be making the move to Arizona where he will be starting his PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Pharmacy allows Justin to pursue his passion for helping others and in this role, he will directly interact with patients, build meaningful pharmacist-patient relationships, and optimize pharmacotherapies and patient care provided by the interdisciplinary healthcare team. He hopes to explore all possible roles a pharmacist can play in the inpatient setting as well as the ambulatory setting and also have an opportunity to directly improve patient care. His favorite UCI memory is his involvement in the Pre-Pharmacy Society where he developed his confidence as a leader and future healthcare professional. Justin’s advice for all the future pharmacists is to NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK!
