Activate Your UCINetID

Your UCInetID is a name-based user name at UC Irvine listed on your applicant portal. It consists of a 3-8 letter combination of your first and last name. A UCInetID is not a Student ID which consists of all numbers.

You will need to activate your UCInetID for Financial Aid, Housing, and Student Health, then once you matriculate you will need your UCInetID to log onto other university systems. As an applicant, you can activate your UCInetID at the following link: UCInetID Activation. You will need the following information to activate your UCInetID:

  • Your UCInetID and UCI Student ID Number (listed on the STATUS tab of your applicant portal)
  • Your birth date (mm/dd/yyyy)
  • The last four digits of your social security number
  • Remember, you will need the password you created for your UCInetID to log into most university systems.

UC Irvine Student Housing

UC Irvine Student Housing is now accepting applications! Applications are processed in the order received and include a $20 processing fee for all first-time housing applications. To maximize your housing options, complete your application today. You do not have to submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) before completing your application, as this was automatically transmitted to housing when you indicated your acceptance through your applicant portal. You will however, need to activate your UCInetID (not Student ID or AAMC ID) and password to access the housing application. If you have forgotten your UCInet ID password, you can change or reset your password by clicking here. Your UCInetID can be found on the STATUS tab home screen of your applicant portal.

Learn more about on-campus housing options on the Housing Website. Housing is not guaranteed so explore other options as well, including on-campus privately-managed American Campus Communities (furnished apartments) and off-campus options

Statement of Legal Residence

The Statement of Legal Residence is used by the campus registrar to make a determination of your legal state of residence for assessment of tuition and fees. All UC Irvine students are required to complete this form prior to matriculation. You will need an activated UCInetID to complete this form.

Obtain a new TB test / PPD or Interferon gamma release assay (IGRA)

Each year you will need to have a current PPD or IGRA to prove your TB status. Your TB test should be dated on or after July 1, 2021. Ideally, this should be completed before you matriculate; however, the Student Health Center will take appointments from our incoming students for a special medical student clinic scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 (Tentative). If you do not waive out of the student health insurance plan (GSHIP), your costs will be covered for required immunizations and titers performed at the Sept. 18 clinic (GSHIP coverage begins on Sept. 13). If you waive out of student health insurance then your ZOT (student) account will be charged.

Health Insurance and Immunization Requirements

All registered student pharmacists in UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) are required to have health insurance. Each UCI student is automatically enrolled in the Graduate UC Student Health Insurance Plan (GSHIP), unless they can show proof of comparable coverage from another source and request a waiver.

  • Enroll in UC GSHIP: If you want to be enrolled in UC GSHIP, you are automatically enrolled.
  • Waive UC GSHIP: If you have comparable insurance and do not want to be enrolled in UC GSHIP, you must apply online for a UC SHIP waiver within the posted waiver periods and by the deadline date.

Important SHC Policies for New Students to Read, Understand and Acknowledge

In addition to the above referenced admission health and health insurance requirements, new students, prior to their initial appointment at the Student Health Center (SHC), must acknowledge that they have read and understand other SHC policies:

You may acknowledge these policies at the time of appointment self check-in at SHC or on the Wellness, Health & Counseling Services secure Student Health Patient Portal

Influenza and COVID-19

An updated “Immunization Policy” from the University of California is forthcoming. The policy will provide guidance for all students regarding the University’s plan to continue to mitigate the risk to the campus community of contracting and spreading vaccine-preventable illnesses including COVID-19 and influenza.

The University of California (UC) has announced a proposed COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, which would require all UC students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in order to physically be present on campus for attending classes, for living on campus (in UCI or in ACC housing) or for working on campus beginning this fall. We expect the University to issue the final COVID-19 vaccine policy by July 15, and it will require students to upload proof of vaccination through the UCI Student Health Portal.

Under the policy, you must complete your vaccination no later than two weeks before fall term starts. Details about narrow exceptions will be made available when the final policy is issued, but students who are not vaccinated must, at a minimum, wear masks and participate in regular COVID-19 testing. We will communicate the details of the final policy when it is published, including the process for requesting an exception under the policy.

Upload your vaccination record – If you have already received your COVID-19 vaccine, or once you receive it, please upload your vaccination record by visiting the UCI Student Health Center Patient Portal. You can do that even before the policy issues (you can do it today). Step-by-step instructions for uploading your vaccination record can be found here. Additionally, please view this short video tutorial that walks you through the upload process.
If you need assistance with finding a vaccination appointment or you are having trouble uploading your vaccine record, contact Contact Tracing and Vaccine Navigation Services (CTVNS) at 949.824.2300 or
As a reminder and in addition to the anticipated COVID-19 vaccination requirement, incoming students must also obtain four other vaccines (or provide evidence of compliance) and complete a TB Initial Risk Screening Questionnaire. Non-compliance with this Health Clearance requirement may result in a Registration Hold for the Winter Quarter, so please take the time to upload your records for these vaccinations as well. Additional information can be found here
Please visit the UCI Forward site for timely updates on campus safety precautions and public health advisories. The health, well-being and success of our campus community remain our top priority as we prepare to welcome you to campus this fall.

Tuberculosis (TB) Screening & Testing

·     Complete a TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire

·     Proof of a current negative two (2)-step PPD or Interferon gamma release assay (IGRA).

·     Your TB test should be dated on or after July 1, 2021.

Student pharmacists who fail to submit this documentation will be placed on an academic hold by the Student Health Center (SHC) Director and cannot register for courses the following quarter.

Health Clearance

For new student pharmacists, all immunization records and TB screening will need to be completed and uploaded to the Student Health Center to receive a health clearance.

Student Health Insurance

As a student at UC Irvine you will be required to have health insurance coverage. As an accepted student, you are automatically enrolled in the graduate student health insurance plan (GSHIP). A full description of the GSHIP insurance plan can be found at

If you choose to waive out of the GSHIP plan, then you must provide proof of health insurance coverage that complies with UC’s waiver criteria. Details regarding GSHIP waiver criteria, the waiver process, and the online waiver application can be found at: The links to the 3rd party waiver vendor, Academic Health Plans (AHP), are activated on the first day of the relevant waiver period. A $50.00 fee will be charged to your ZOT account if you submit a waiver after the published deadline date. This fee is not charged to your account if your GSHIP waiver is ultimately denied.

The GSHIP waiver period is:

Entering Class        July 26 – August 30, 2021
If you choose the GSHIP plan, your coverage starts Sept. 13, 2021

Dependent Coverage

All graduate students who are enrolled in GSHIP have the option to enroll eligible dependents in a voluntary plan. The plan provides medical insurance and the option to add dental and vision benefits. NOTE: If both student parents are covered by GSHIP, their children may be covered as the dependents of either student, but not both.

Enrollment in the dependent plan is managed by Academic Health Plans (AHP) on behalf of GSHIP/UCOP and all carriers. The cost of the dependent premiums is payable directly to AHP. For dependent plan enrollment questions and plan information, please refer to
