Alumni Spotlight on Eric Viquez

Alumni Spotlight on Eric Viquez, Class of 2015

Tell us where you are now and what you are doing.

I’m living in Denver, CO and am a second year medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

What do you find exciting in pharmaceutical sciences today?

Immunotherapy – training your own cells to fight against cancer!

Why did you choose to major in PharmSci at UCI?

I felt PharmSci would prepare me for medical school by exposing me to both the basic science and clinical application of pharmacologic therapies I will eventually use in my practice. So far it has been invaluable.

What PharmSci faculty member or class was most memorable and why?

Pharmacotherapy with Dr. Plon was by far my favorite in all of undergrad. His blunt attitude, friendly demeanor, and years of experience as a pharmacologist made for a really enjoyably class. He really cared about his students.

What advice would you give to today’s students?

Enjoy the ride!
