Dr. Kevin (Zhijun) Wang Joins UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences as Associate Professor

The UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences is excited to welcome Dr. Kevin (Zhijun) Wang, associate professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice!

After obtaining his Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenetics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007, Dr. Wang conducted postdoctoral training at the Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Pharmacy in Pomona, CA. He was promoted to research assistant professor in 2012. Then, he joined Marshall B. Ketchum University’s College of Pharmacy in Fullerton as an assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences and was eventually promoted to associate professor.

With a background that includes research in bioanalytical assay development, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics, herbal medicine, biological pharmaceutics, and more, Dr. Wang brings a wealth of experience to the UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. Currently, his research focuses on preclinical and clinical pharmacokinetics, PBPK modeling, formulation development, and herbal medicine.

Dr. Wang was drawn to UCI for its state-of-the-art research facilities, unmatched academics, and access to Southern California’s healthcare industry.
