Lilian Allahverdian Joins Anteaters in Pharmacy Board

Lilian Allahverdian, a 2012 UC Irvine graduate of the B.S. in Biology program, has joined the Anteaters in Pharmacy (AIP) alumni board!

Following her graduation from UCI, Allahverdian earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from California Northstate University College of Pharmacy. Currently, she is a clinical pharmacist on the prior authorizations team at CarelonRx, where she reviews cases for specialty injectable drugs.

Allahverdian has joined the AIP board to work with other pharmacy professionals and help students get the guidance they need to reach their potential and advance in their education and toward their eventual careers.

“So many students have a hard time figuring out what they want to do with their future, and it should be a community effort to guide them in the right direction and be their cheerleaders,” she said.

Anteaters in Pharmacy has connected a number of alumni and students, creating a space where people throughout the UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences community can learn from and support each other. Allahverdian hopes to provide current students with the tools she needed during her time in school.

“I truly believe AIP is such an amazing resource for UCI students,” stated Allahverdian. “I wish that when I was a student, this program was what it has grown to be now — so many mentors and mentees, so many events and ways to learn about different career paths, and so much guidance. I am very proud to be part of such a hardworking team that strives to provide so much for these students.”

She hopes to use her time on the AIP board to expand alumni programs throughout the university. One of her goals is to hold more in-person events and bring students and alumni together more often, a task that has not been easy in recent years.

“I am confident that, over these next two years, we will be able to bring students together in person with mentors and professionals in various fields,” she shared. “These events will help students network and get used to in-person interactions as the world gets back to normal again.”
