UCI Team Placed Third in American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s Clinical Research Challenge

A team of first-year PharmD students from the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences placed third in the national American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s (ACCP) Clinical Research Challenge!

The team — consisting of Aiah Lee, Lisa Qiu, and Tiffany Lam — triumphed over 84 teams from pharmacy schools nationwide to earn the honor.

“They worked hard over the past few months to critically appraise a piece of primary literature, submit a letter of intent for a fictitious research grant, and submit a full research proposal designed to demonstrate the value of clinical pharmacy led services. Their final submission was very impressive and I am sure they learned quite a bit,” said Shawn Griffin, health sciences assistant clinical professor and faculty liaison, “I am definitely proud of them and all their hard work.”

In addition to recognition by ACCP, the team’s placement has granted them an invitation to the ACCP Annual Meeting, where they will share their proposal.

Congratulations to Aiah, Lisa, and Tiffany!
