The UCI Campuswide Honors Collegium is a community of motivated learners dedicated to scholastic excellence and personal growth that is supported by the resources of a major research university.

For honors students, participation in the CHC indicates not only strong academic ability but also the willingness to accept an intellectual challenge and tremendous personal motivation and persistence. Those completing their degree with Campuswide Honors can be expected to go beyond the expertise of their major. These students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experience to think, speak, and write clearly, and to construct and evaluate arguments from a variety of perspectives.

Faculty serve as thesis advisors and mentors to undergraduate students throughout the honors undergraduate research process which directly correlate with students’ student development and success. Students benefit from the experience and knowledge of highly respected faculty, who can give students an eye-opening perspective on their field.

“I feel that formal mentorship program at UCI Campuswide Honors Collegium benefits both students and faculty,” says Lee. “Students gain more confidence and professional development, whereas faculty are provided different perspectives while expanding our network. Investing in student success through mentoring models how the students can one day become great mentors themselves.”
