Student Pharmacist Ivann Agapito Receives the CSHP 2022 Student Leadership Award
Second-year UC Irvine student pharmacist, Ivann Agapito, is the recipient of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) 2022 Student Leadership Award.
The CSHP Student Leadership Award recognizes pharmacy students’ involvement in and contribution to CSHP and the profession of pharmacy. CSHP is the leading advocate, actively engaging policy makers and advancing the role of pharmacy professionals in all practice settings.
“We are proud to recognize your involvement in and contributions to CSHP and the profession of pharmacy,” said Loriann De Martini, chief executive officer of CSHP. “Thank you for your contributions as a student, and we look forward to celebrating the very best of CSHP’s student members in health-system practice.”
Agapito was recognized at the Seminar 2022 Awards Ceremony held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, and was given an inscribed plaque and provided complimentary registration to Seminar 2022.
Agapito initially joined CSHP to learn more about pharmacy and the different career paths available after pharmacy school. These motivations led him to come together with his classmates to establish Student Societies of Health-System Pharmacy (SSHP)1 at UCI, where he served as the organization’s inaugural President.
“CSHP has been an amazing platform to network with established professionals and share resources with student members regarding post-graduate training preparation and information,” Agapito said.
Outside of CSHP involvements, Agapito works as an Intern Pharmacist at Costco Pharmacy and Kaiser Permanente. In addition to these commitments, he engages in research at UCI alongside the Alexandre Chan Research Group, where he studies survivorship outcomes among adolescent and young adult cancer survivors.
Agapito aims to seek a career in pharmacy informatics and become clinically specialized in both pharmacotherapy and oncology.
