Nana Entsuah Joins UC Irvine as a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor

The UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences has announced Nana Entsuah, PharmD, as a health sciences assistant clinical professor, effective Sept. 1. In addition to her faculty role at UCI, Entsuah will also serve as a geriatric clinical pharmacist at the UCI Health SeniorHealth Center.

“I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Entsuah is joining the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences,” said Founding Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice Alexandre Chan. “In her role as a clinical faculty, Dr. Entsuah will play a significant role to further expand the collaborative relationship between UCI Pharmacy and the UCI Health SeniorHealth Center.”

Entsuah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Cincinnati and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

“The SeniorHealth Center is very excited to welcome Dr. Entsuah to our practice,” said Dr. Lisa Gibbs, the SeniorHealth Center Medical Director and Chief of the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology. “We look forward to enhancing our patient services and developing innovations in practice with her unique skills in geriatric pharmacy.”

Prior to joining UCI, Entsuah served as a PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Resident with Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale.

As a part of her PGY2 residency, Entsuah provided care for geriatric patients in various settings including acute care, ambulatory care, and long-term care. Entsuah aims to continue providing excellent patient-centered care to geriatric patients while teaching and mentoring young pharmacists at UCI.

She completed her pharmacy practice residency at Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital where her passion for geriatrics and community outreach was birthed through her participation in various community health programs in medically underserved communities where she cared for various patients, most of whom were elderly.
