Today we are highlighting our very own Chapter President, Alex Shahverdian, who graduated from UCI in 2019 with a B.S in Pharmaceutical Sciences. OC born and raised, Alex is currently attending his second year of pharmacy school at the USC School of Pharmacy along with working at USC Verdugo Hills Professional Pharmacy as a P2 Intern. Alex’s passion for pharmacy drove him to choose this profession because of the huge role drugs and medication play in our daily lives. Alex is interesting in new therapies being developed and wants to be a trusted source for both patients and healthcare professionals to turn to. He is inspired by the pioneers in the pharmaceutical sciences field and hopes to one day contribute in the future. His favorite memory from UCI was working at the Pharmaceutical Sciences Student Affairs Office as a Peer Academic Advisor because he was able to work with the staff, faculty, and students. Alex’s words of advice to current students are to remember why you chose this path and the bigger achievements ahead.
