Remembering PharmSci Student Mira Sanghera

Remembering PharmSci Student Mira Sanghera

On October 11, 2017, PharmSci undergraduate student Mira Sanghera was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on campus.

Mira was a 3rd year PharmSci major and was part of the Campuswide Honors Program. She was a peer tutor for the Chemistry department and a Peers under Pharmaceutical Sciences intern. Mira participated in UROP under the mentorship of Professor Andrej Luptak, and was involved in honors research this year. She was planning on becoming a pharmacist after she graduated from UCI.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mira’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We offer our sincerest condolences for their incredibly great loss.

The UCI campus community, along with some of Mira’s closest friends, have planned a vigil to honor her beautiful spirit and to celebrate her life:

Vigil celebrating Mira Sanghera’s Life

Tuesday, November 14, 2017
6:30 PM
Natural Sciences I, Room 1114

In lieu of bringing flowers & candles, we encourage guests to consider making a donation for a scholarship program in Mira’s name. Any notes, cards, or photos brought to the vigil will be given to the Sanghera family. Guests will have the opportunity to write notes in a scrapbook at the event.

Each of us is part of the large, diverse Anteater family, and it is always hard to lose one of our own. As a reminder, the UCI Counseling Center is available for all students who may need psychological support and services or help through the grieving process.
