Second-year student pharmacist in the UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Joseph Chang, has been appointed to the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association’s (HOPA) Patient Outreach and Education Committee!
As a member of this committee, Chang will be responsible for furthering HOPA’s mission of promoting the importance of hematology/oncology pharmacists, as well as establishing relationships with patient advocacy partners.
“Joseph has a deep desire to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to oncology patients. I am proud and excited that he has the opportunity to build on this passion by serving on a national HOPA committee,” said Dr. Shawn Griffin, health sciences assistant clinical professor, chair of the HOPA Practice Outcomes and Professional Benchmarking Committee, and recent HOPA Volunteer Award honoree.
“It means a lot to be appointed as a student and to be able to participate and advance patient outcomes and help educate the patient population,” Chang shared. “I hope to assist the committee to the best of my ability and learn as much as possible.”
