Applied PharmD Experiences
Become a pharmacy preceptor for student experiences. These may occur in a wide range of settings including, community pharmacies, hospitals and health systems, ambulatory care clinics, research laboratories, managed care, pharmaceutical industry, and government agencies.
Experiential education provides structured learning under the supervision of pharmacist preceptors in an authentic pharmacy setting outside the classroom.
PharmD Scholarly Research Project (SRP)
The SRP presents student pharmacists with an opportunity to develop and design a research project with mentor guidance. The project will focus on pharmacy and healthcare related topics, providing an opportunity for students to interpret results and create a plan for dissemination and utilization of research results to contribute to new knowledge.
PharmD faculty, pharmaceutical sciences faculty, UCI Medical Center preceptors, and affiliated pharmacist preceptors may mentor student projects; pharmacy residents may assist with supervision but should not be the primary mentor for student research.
Basic Science Research Support
Donate to support faculty research: research grants allow faculty to elevate scientific discovery without the constraints of limited funding streams and allow faculty an opportunity to take their research to new levels Venture capital & contracts: collaborate with researchers, startups, tools, centers, and specialized facilities to sponsor research that can advance technologies on the campus toward commercialization.
