Dr. Nathan Price is a Professor and Co-Director of the Center for Human Healthspan at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. He is also the Chief Scientific Officer of Thorne, a science-driven wellness company that serves 5 million+ customers and 47,000 healthcare practitioners. Previously, he served as CEO of Onegevity, an AI health intelligence company that merged with Thorne in 2021, and as Professor and Associate Director of the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle. Together with biotechnology pioneer Dr. Leroy Hood, he wrote the bestselling book The Age of Scientific Wellness, published in 2023 by Harvard University Press. In 2019, he was among the Ten Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine selected by the National Academy of Medicine and was appointed to the Board on Life Sciences of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in 2021. He served as chair of the NIH Study Section on Modeling and Analysis of Biological Systems (MABS) from 2018 to 2020. He is also a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, a Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar, and is the 2023 recipient of the Alexander & Mildred Seelig Award for Science from the American Nutrition Association.
The UC Irvine Center for Healthspan Sciences, Your Healthspan Seminar Series, is designed to educate the community about evidence-based interventions that can improve human healthspan, the healthy years of human lifespan. The series presents experts to share their insights and experience with our faculty, staff, students, and community members.
