Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Welcome

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences serves as a drug discovery nucleus for the campus, conducting research and teaching students in the various disciplines associated with the development of new therapeutics. These disciplines include target identification and validation, molecular screening, medicinal chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and animal behavior. Our activities align with the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences’ strategic plan and UCI’s core goals of research, teaching, and service.

We offer undergraduate and graduate students unparalleled training for future careers in pharmacy, medicine, and biomedical research. Graduates of our program are well qualified to seek employment in the public and private sectors or pursue graduate degrees such as PhD, MD, or PharmD. Our Alumni are continually improving our society’s health and well-being, working to discover and safely deploy new medicines that address pressing unmet medical needs.
