The UC Irvine Center for Healthspan Sciences is committed to piloting research and education initiatives concentrated on promoting longer years of healthy living. As opposed to traditional approaches that aim to lengthen lifespan in general, the field of healthspan sciences is focused on adding healthy years to the lives of people and improving mental and physical well-being for a longer period of time. The Center for Healthspan Sciences is a place where experts in medicine, nutrition, exercise, psychology, healthspan pharmacology, and health coaching can work together to develop practices for healthy aging.
UC Irvine Center for Neurotherapeutics
The UC Irvine Center for Neurotherapeutics was formed through the support of the Vice Chancellor for Research and five different schools: Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biosciences, Engineering, and Physical Sciences. By bringing together researchers from a range of fields, the UC Irvine Center for Neurotherapeutics aims to facilitate the integration of physical science expertise into ongoing efforts in translational neuroscience and neurotherapeutics, with the ultimate goal of fostering drug development.
