Dear Anteaters,
As I round past my first year at UCI, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge students who are making great contributions to UCI and the PharmSci Department. Therefore, I created the Pharmaceutical Sciences Undergraduate Achievement Awards to honor those students who are excelling in academics, research, and/or campus and community service. I asked the Student Affairs Committee to solicit nominations and select four outstanding, graduating students. They received 20 nominations! I want to thank all the students and faculty who nominated such amazing students – the committee had a difficult time selecting just four.
Below are the 2020 award recipients:
Jordan Erhman, Pharmaceutical Sciences & Chemistry
Jordan is an undergraduate researcher in the Mobley Lab, as well as the co-founder and president of PharmSci Alternative Careers Association. Jordan will be headed to the University of Washington to attend a doctoral program in Chemistry.
David Jooryabi, Pharmaceutical Sciences David was a PharmSci Peer Academic Advisor and founded the PharmSci free book rental program for PharmSci students with financial need. David will be headed to medical school in the fall at Kansas City University, School of Medicine and Biosciences.

Christia Kim, Pharmaceutical Sciences
Christia is an undergraduate researcher in the Jafari lab, a member of PUPS, as well as the PharmSci department’s first social media intern. Christia will be headed Pharmacy School at the University of Washington in the fall.
Loan Le, Pharmaceutical Sciences
Loan is a member of the Multidisciplinary Design Program (MDP) within the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, as well as an undergraduate researcher in the Zhou Lab. Loan will be seeking pharmacy internship opportunities after graduation with plans to attend pharmacy school or medical school.
