Dr. Alexandre Chan has been selected by the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) as the recipient of their 2025 HOPA Oncology Pharmacy Practice Literature Award.
With this award, HOPA annually recognizes a member of the organization who has published “an article, other than scientific research, that contributes to the betterment of the hematology/oncology pharmacy profession and describes innovations in community, hospital, or healthcare system hematology/oncology pharmacy practices.”
Dr. Chan was chosen for his article, “Electronic Patient-Reported Outcome-Driven Symptom Management by Oncology Pharmacists in a Majority-Minority Population: An Implementation Study,” published in JCO Oncology Practice.
He was presented with the award at the 2025 HOPA Annual Conference.
“I want to thank the HOPA Awards Committee for selecting me,” said Dr. Chan. “The publication selected for this award is a joint project that was conducted by my research team in conjunction with the infusion center pharmacists at UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in Orange. The award is truly a testament to the collaborative success between the UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and UCI Health.”
