UCI Student Pharmacist Sara Ali Appointed to Practice Outcomes and Professional Benchmarking Committee by Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA)

Sara Ali, a student pharmacist at the UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, was chosen by the board of directors of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) as the newest member of their Practice Outcomes and Professional Benchmarking Committee.

“I have a strong interest in hematology/oncology and am thrilled to play an integral role in the association’s mission of promoting excellence in pharmaceutical practices and enhancing the quality of cancer treatment. It is an honor to be the only student member of the committee,” said Ali.

HOPA is dedicated to improving patient experiences through the education of pharmacists and other medical professionals, the development of research-based resources, and further efforts. The organization is an authority on cancer care and serves as an advocate for the rights of patients and the support of caregivers.

In addition to being the only student in the Practice Outcomes and Professional Benchmarking Committee, Ali is among a small group of students appointed to any standing committee within HOPA.

Shawn Griffin, health sciences assistant clinical professor, shared, “I am confident that Sara will be an amazing representative of student pharmacists and the UCI community in her role with the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association.”

Congratulations to Sara Ali for this monumental accomplishment!
