PPS at UCI Wins The Spirit of Relay Award at Relay For Life 2019

The department of Pharmaceutical Sciences would like to congratulate the Pre-Pharmacy Society (PPS) at UCI for winning the Spirit of Relay at Relay For Life 2019 on April 13th-14th!

Relay For Life is a 24-hour cancer event hosted by the American Cancer Society and Colleges Against Cancer at UCI. This event aims to educate on cancer, celebrate and remember cancer victims and survivors, and raise funds for cancer research and patients.

Every year all participating organizations decorate their booths according to a fun theme. This year, it was Harry Potter! PPS decorated their canopy like the Dining Hall in Hogwarts and also organized an educational quiz game to bring awareness on the brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme.

The Spirit of Relay Award goes to the organization that helped to raise the most donations and awareness through active participation during the event. In total, PPS raised $1,172.82 and even won the talent show and Quidditch tournament! The Pharmaceutical Sciences department is proud of all of Pre-Pharmacy Society’s  and dedication to make an impact on the cancer community.
