Lynnette Jackson awarded two research fellowships

Congratulations to UCI senior Lynnette Jackson on her award in the UCI Minority Science Program (MSP)  as well as her award as a Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Scholar. Both fellowships are funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and will support her research on the mechanism of unnatural nucleotide replication in engineered DNA polymerases in the Chaput Lab.

About the MSP Program

The MSP program seeks to prepare underrepresented minority undergraduates for exciting careers in biomedical research. MBRS-IMSD provides academic preparation to excel in college, paid research training, information about career choices and opportunities for mentorship with biomedical researchers.

About the MARC Awards

The MARC awards provide support for undergraduate students who are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences to improve their preparation for high-caliber graduate training at the PhD level.
