Why did you decide to major in PharmSci at UCI?

When I was at high school, I thought about being a pharmacist. However, I wasn’t 100% sure about that, so I hope this major will help me to figure out my passion.

What clubs/activities are you involved in at UCI?

I am very involved with Pre-Pharmacy Society and Flying Samaritans. I am also in Mahler’s Lab where we study the addiction circuits in the brain. In addition, I am a mentor in the PharmSci Mentorship Program.

What PharmSci faculty member or class is most memorable and why?

Dr. Mahtab Jafari is the most memorable professor because she has a lot experiences with different fields of pharmacy and wants her students to succeed.

What do you hope to do after graduation?

I want to go to a Pharmacy School to get a PharmD degree and at the same time participate in a research lab.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

I would really recommend people to take the time to explore their passion. Don’t think the only thing you can do with a PharmSci major is to go to Pharmacy School. Before I made up my mind to go to Pharmacy School, I was part of a Physician Assistant Club. I have a Minor in Statistics because I was thinking about becoming a Biostatistian. I participate in research because I want to know if I want to go into research. So, take some time to explore and try something you would love to do.
