UCI PharmSci Professor Steve Hanessian and UCI Developmental and Cell Biology Professor Aimee Edinger have co-founded a new company, Obsidio Therapeutics Inc, to combat cancer.
Obsidio in Latin means “siege” or “blocade” and reflects the mission of the company to block the entry of nutrients into cancer cells, starving them to death while sparing normal tissues.
